how can the baby be a muslim?..or christian…u need to believe in order to belong to any religion …all children should be born free..free to choose their religion!!
@dinomite161 in islam all babies and children before puberty are muslim and sinless they are not punished and if they ever died at this age they are promised heaven , but when a baby is born we do celebrate when the baby is a week old we sacrafice a lamb, cut their hair and weigh the baby and give their weight in gold to the poor and we often have a big party and celebrater with the family. this does not make the baby a muslim rather it celebrate the little miracle
First thing when they are born you recite the call to prayer in the childs right ear. Then you pray for the baby. Then there is the aquiqa; which is the celebration or feast to receive the baby. This takes place on the seventh day. Ususally the family slaughters some animals. The baby’s hair is shaven and its weight in gold or silver is given to charity, the baby is named and in the boy’s case circumsicion is done. Mashalah, felicidades por tu nino tan bonito; que Alah lo bendiga.
mashallah. May allah bless him
mashallah…bien chulito el nino!
I have a question…Are Muslim babies “received” into their faith? I know that’s not the correct word. But is there a celebration when they are born, like, sometimes, Christians baptize their babies into the Christian faith. Is there a similar custom? I was just curious.
aww mashallah
