What exactly defines a latino or hispanic person to you?

What’s the first thing that comes to mind? What features and what countries do you first think of? What kind of personality and demeanor would you assume he or she presents?

Please be honest. No universal “they come in all kinds”, I’m asking for your first, honest thought that comes to mind. Hispanics/latinos feel free to add your input of what you think others assume or see you as and why.

I usually think of a brown skinned person scantily dressed with a smile on their face. I also think of Cuba. Thumbs down for honesty. Nice.

Tropical islands, rainforests, exoticness, tan skin, dark hair, dark eyes, sensuality, sexiness, passion, foreignness, beaches, humid weather, oceans, spicy food, Central America, the Caribbean, South America, Salsa music. That’s what comes to my mind.

A person with Latino heritage means that they are descendants of a family from Mexico, the Carribean, Central America, and South America. The term Hispanic means people who come from a country where Spanish is spoken.

well, being hispanic, i would HAVE to say they come in all kinds. my dominican family ranges from almost pure white people to people licorice coloured and even darker. but the first thing i think of is food. arroz con pollo, mangu, arroz con habichuelas, tostones, balacao, the list goes on…

Got something to say?
