Carlos in DC: Pride on being Indigenous or Native

I am a Native American man. The term Hispanic is a discriminatory word that denies and tries to hide, erase our true racial and cultural heritages. I speak Spanish and English, those languages don’t define my ancestry, culture, race. Carlos in DC blog: carlosqc.blogspot.com .

@CarlosDCblog I WANNA congratulate you for pointing out the fact that “latinos” are Native americans and African descendant. I think you are a bit naive when you say this country is Euro centric.. this country is NARCISSISTIC! AMERICANS are Racially european but not Ethnically european! I think that its a Travesty! the fact that Columbus, Cortez and the Spanish get the blame for the demise of native people. The Usa is the only nation that Killed the Natives! and Put them in REservations!

@coupleofbeers31 Yes of course we can’t generalize. But ignoring that the majority of us ARE of an indigenous/African bloodline is the same racist crap practiced by the immigrant criollo colonizers. If you are lighter skinned and don’t identify then at least become conscious of the reality surrounding us.

I consider myself latin american. That is where I came from. I know I might have african, native american or European ancestory in me but c’mon i’m not going to mention all those things. it’s a waste of time.

I don’t consider myself these colors black/ white because it’s stupid as hell to me. Might as well start using red/ yellow as races since there’s alot of native americans/ asians..
