island dancers and costumes of the philippines to some more modern music
National costume (also: regional costume, folk costume or traditional garments) expresses an identity through costume which usually relates to a geographic area or a period of time in history, but can also indicate social, marital and/or religious status. Such costumes often come in two forms: one for everyday occasions, the other for festivals and formal wear. Following the outbreak of romantic nationalism, the peasantry of Europe came to serve as models for all that appeared genuine and desirable. Their dress crystallised into so-called “typical” forms, and enthusiasts adopted it as part of their symbolism. In areas where contemporary Western fashions have become usual, traditional garments are often worn in connection with special events and celebrations, particularly those connected with cultural traditions, heritage, or pride. In modern times there are instances where traditional garments are required by law, as in Bhutan, where the traditional Tibetan-style clothing of gho and kera for men, kira and toego for women, must be worn by all citizens — even those not of Tibetan heritage; or in Saudi Arabia, where women are required to wear the abaya in public. The culture of the Philippines reflects the complexity of the history of the Philippines through the blending of several diverse traditional Malay[1] heritage mixed with Spanish [2], American and other Asian cultures. Pre-Hispanic, and non-Christian Philippine cultures are derived from several indigenous traditions …
In the Heights Dedication- Champagne
In The Heights is a show that changed my life. This is the first video I ever made. I wanted to express how I felt about the show and show all of you how incredible it is through this video. Champagne is one of my favorite songs, so after a lot of work and help from my friend Brad telling me how to upload audio, this video was made. If you don’t know what ITH is you should. It is a dream of mine to meet the cast or sing with them, as it is a dream for most of us fans. They are all incredible people, good people, talented actors, writers, singers, and they won the Tony!! Im so proud of Lin Manuel and all he has created, so here it is!! If you’re watching Lin, I’ve followed you for 6 years now, and I am so proud of where you are! After a lot of begging and negotiating, I finally flew down last November and saw the original cast perform the show, and it was honestly one of the best nights of my life. The cast was incredible, and I cried throughout, especially at Benny and Nina’s kiss at the end of Blackout. People complained because they say broadway is not rap, and there is no room for an all rap musical. They are very naiive. In the Heights has it all, from rap to jazz dance music, to traditional and powerful broadway songs, to a 40s swing slow dance. The message behind ITH reaches all people, not just Latinos, Hispanics, White people or black people. The message about home is for everyone, and should inspire everyone. Thank you for watching this video and ITH forever …
Stepmania – Hispanic Panic Expert FEC (Full Excellent Combo)
Read this first, please… Recorded the same day as my Holy Guacamole FEC, this is the other video I forgot to upload due to my recent Touhou “addiction”. I’m not even sure the name of the song is that fitting – it hardly sounds panicky at all. Since I’ve started using Fantastic timing, I now have no need for the “autoplay disclaimers” I’ve been using. This is not the best score I can get (which autoplay would give me by definition), nor will I be able to get such a score for a while, as that is way beyond my current skills. Other than that, the sound of my fingers (hopefully they’re not too loud) should be proof enough that the video is legit. Anyway, enjoy.
